FileZilla is a free, open source file transfer protocol (FTP) software tool that allows users to set up FTP servers or connect to other servers in order to exchange files. FileZilla is available for all platforms and is free. Unlike the commonly chosen alternative form of security in FTP, secure file transport protocol (SFTP), FTPS is less firewall-friendly and requires the opening of a number of ports for its operation.
